Rack and pinion ratios are
based on the distance that the rack moves in
one full turn of the pinion.
Example: a 2" rack will move 2" for
each turn of the steering wheel. Stock steering
is rated by the number of complete revolutions
of the steering wheel that it takes for the
pitman arm to turn 360 degrees. See the chart
