Steering Frame Mounts For Rack And Pinion

Rack and pinion ratios are based on the distance that the rack moves in one full turn of the pinion. Example: a 2" rack will move 2" for each turn of the steering wheel. Stock steering is rated by the number of complete revolutions of the steering wheel that it takes for the pitman arm to turn 360 degrees. See the chart (below) for a comparison between the two ratios.

RACK & PINION STOCK STEERING BOX
1-1/2" 22:1
1-3/4" 20:1
1-7/8" 17.5:1
2" 16:1
2-1/2" 12:1
3" 8:1
