It is the first ball joint to offer very low resistance while still fully capturing the ball to maintain alignment. In addition the Howe ball joint offers an unmatched selection of interchangeable studs and housing. Recently cheap copies have emerged that sacrifice quality and selection. Lightened copies are made with hollow studs and weak aluminum housings. All Howe Ball Joints are made and assembled in the U.S.A. with alloy steel ball studs that are process coated for low friction and long wear. The rugged steel housings will withstand impacts that will destroy other ball joints. While others built cheaper we built even tougher with our new XD models.

4 BOLT

The GM based 4 bolt ball joint is used in a variety of applications.

CHROME

For nickel-plated chrome finish just add a “C” to the end of the part number. All models are not stocked in chrome finish.

EXTREME DUTY - XD

The XD housing is 300% stronger in end of travel load testing*. The added strength is in the mil-spec alloy housing. The cap is held securely in place with a patent pending hex lock and snap ring. The same ball studs are used as the standard model and will interchange with all available lengths. * A detailed test report on the XD Ball Joint is available on request.

Note: Never Install a Ball Joint With an Impact Wrench! Only Install With a Socket turning the Housing. Do Not Install Using the Cap! When installing press in style ball joints be sure that you are pressing squarely only on the ball joint housing, do not press on the adjuster cap or you will damage it. An 1-3/4" or greater I.D. object should be sufficient.
