A cold air box is better for power but a hassle to make on your own. What you need is a Howe aluminum air box. The rear of each box is unfinished to allow you to match it to your cowl. The .040 aluminum box is then riveted to the base of the filter housing.  This straight version is hemmed together and allows for unrestricted air flow.
